Induction Showcase

2008 Induction Event – Inductees 2008

It is anticipated that this event will be larger and better attended than previous years. The daytime event will be held as always in the Glasgow Palace of Arts – Bellahouston Park.  It should be noted that the venue for the evening event has changed to Quality Hotel, Glasgow Central Station Hotel.

2006 Induction Event – Inductees 2006

This was one of our  biggest events so far with members coming from  Ex Boxers Associations all over the country, from Manchester, London, Sheffield, Wales, Blackpool, Rotheram and Scotland to name but a few.

2004 Induction Event – Inductees 2004

The Glasgow Palace of Art at Bellahouston was the venue for the second Induction Event and due to a big Rangers/Celtic football match we only had around 500 people attending the daytime event. This did not spoil the event in any way as the sun shone and the Parade was a huge success. The Banquet of Champions was held in the St Andrews Suite (Home of Scottish Boxing) Holiday inn, Glasgow West, and was attended by 350 people. See the gallery section and witness the birthday of former Mayor of Islington, Mary Powell, who celebrated her 80th birthday. LEBA secretary Mary and another 29 members of the London Ex Boxers Association travelled to Scotland for the weekend organised by Ray Caulfield.

2002 Inaugural Induction Event – Inductees 2002

This was the first ever Induction Event in Europe honouring Scottish World Greats and was held in Summerlee Heritage Park in Coatbridge. Coatbridge was chosen as this was the town that had hosted the first ever licensed boxing event in Scotland and it seemed appropriate therefore to hold the first ever Inductions there. The Induction Event was attended by 1200 people during the day and was followed by a Banquet of Champions for 350 people in a specially constructed marquee in the grounds of Summerlee in the evening. See the gallery section for a wide range of photographs of the parade led by the Summerlee Tramcar and much more.
